Charles Villeneuve, painter, designer, and architect. Absolute finest watercolorist, he creates monumental works that masterfully combine the excellence of architectural drawing with the delicate mastery of watercolor.
Charles Villeneuve, awarded the Grand Prix National d’Architecture in 1997, was a resident artist at the Casa de Velázquez from 1999 to 2001, exhibiting in major Parisian institutions “Espace Pierre Cardin” and “Institut de France”.
Settling in Spain, he remained closely involved with the Casa as member of the artistic council.
A celebrated sketcher and traveler, Villeneuve has received numerous prestigious awards (“Georges Wildenstein”, first price of “44th Salon de la Marine, Paris” …), and his works are held in major museum collections (European Museum of Modern Art, MEAM, French Embassy in Spain, Casa de Velazquez, Institut de France…) .
